A remarkable individual in the world of male grooming and barbering, Jay Miller, is the proud owner of Jays Barber Club and Jays Pro Barber Academy. Jay not only secured the prestigious title of ‘Barber/Male Grooming Salon of the Year’ but also was honoured with the esteemed ‘People’s Choice’ Award in our 2023 Awards.

Jay’s journey to success has been nothing short of inspiring. Raised in Rathcoole Estate and having spent time in a children’s home, Jay found his true passion when he joined the army and discovered the art of barbering. Upon leaving the army, Jay pursued his enthusiasm for his craft, gaining further training and experience. His journey continued with the management of House of Fraser’s Barbershop in Belfast, and eventually, he fulfilled his dream of owning his own establishment, Jays Barber Club. Not stopping there, Jay also established Jays Pro Barber Academy in Newtownabbey, a testament to his commitment to passing on his skills to others.

For Jay, barbering is not just a profession; it’s a means of helping others. He comments, “My favourite part of the job is I get to make people look and feel good.” Jay’s dedication to his craft and his clients, alongside his kindness to others has earned him a well-deserved reputation, making him a true inspiration to many.

In his advice to aspiring individuals, Jay encourages self-belief and perseverance, stating, “Believe in yourself and keep pushing forward.” This mantra has undoubtedly been a driving force in his own success, leading to his well-deserved recognition by the Northern Ireland Beauty Excellence Awards Judges. Jay is not only pleased with the acknowledgment of his hard work but also motivated to see others stepping forward to showcase their talents.
